Conflicting opinions on how the looks of the new 3G iPhones hold up after the jump.
According to Robert Scoble, who purchased a white 3g iPhone for himself and a black one for his son:
I made a big mistake today. I bought a black iPhone 3G. … The white doesn’t show dirt the way the black one does.
Yet, according to new rumors confirmed by the Consumerist, the white ones crack!
We checked out the MacRumors forum and sure enough there were a few people complaining about tiny cracks appearing on their iPhones.
Online fora such as Macrumors show a flurry of teeth gnashing.
Cnet’s Crave points out that the white is seen as the “luxury” color because it’s the only one availabile with 16G.
So I think the answer is — get whichever iPhone you want, and you can second guess yourself later as we’re told is a human tendency in The How of Happiness: A Scientific Approach to Getting the Life You Want
