While investigating the Hotel Café, a venue where the wonderful Broadway star and film actor James Snyder will perform his original songs tonight (9/16/09) in Hollywood, I ran across these bons mots in a Yelp review by Lynette:

Thus far one of my favorite places to listen to live music, drink, and have an easy night without having crawling creatures (meaning men and women seeking love for the night).

I like how inclusive her definition of crawling creatures is.

So where I’m going is apparently a venue with live music at night, that, surprise! Actually has a crowd that focuses on the live music rather than hooking up.

Or is her Yelp review a sneaky form of counter-programming to improve her odds? Time will tell!

Just ran across these bons mots from Nicole Kidman about how her training in mime finally came in handy:

Although I was disappointed with the film, I wasn’t with the casting or performance of Miss Kidman.

She was amazingly perfect.

The author of the novel, Phillip Pullman, said of the casting of a blond vs. the black haired Mrs. Coulter of his novels:

I was clearly wrong. You sometimes are wrong about your characters. She’s blonde. She has to be.
