See Resume, See Door, See Applicant Run
Breanne Potter over at the Brazen Careerist network has a gripe about job applicants who write “see resume” on forms: Read the rest of this entry »
Hail a Taxi Program Starts in Downtown Los Angeles
Today launches, for the holiday season, at least, something I didn’t know dontown LA didn’t have. Taxis that stop when you hail them:
Gee your hair smells terrific, mi amigo.
My mother used to use this shampoo when I was small.
Ancient Chinese secret, huh?
Again, I love the one liner that closes the commercial.
Calgon Water Softener Commercial from the 1970s.
Some great trivia from AdvertNation:
The actress playing Mrs. Lee, Anne Miyamoto, was actually Japanese-American.
It’s not nice to fool Mother Nature
A classic 70s commercial.
Something so arch about her tag line.
For pure one liners, I think 70s commercials were in a different category.
Baby Doll Promotes Islam (yeah, right)

Some things are too funny to be true.
I suspect this is one of them. More after the jump.

A baby doll from Fisher Price / Mattel allegedly is saying “Islam is the Light.”
Others claim it says “Satan is king.”
How about “Freddie is a Mac?”
Duh.
Somehow, I bet the people complaining are the same people who thought their infants were saying, “Mom, I love living in a trailer!” And the parents would probably call the pooping dolls terrorist bomb threats…
Oddly, there’s no Muslim group buying up the dolls for use in mosques. Hmmmm….
iPhone in a Blender
No, it’s not a joke. It’s edutizing for blenders.
The crazy guys at Will It Blend will blend about anything. Some things blend, some don’t.
Don’t try this at home, and don’t eat the results if you do.

Alan Ball’s New Show TrueBlood

I was watched the 15 minute promo that HBO had on for TrueBlood.
The editing effects they referenced — speeding up the vampires’ movements — looks really hot.
Definitely not the first time we’ve seen super speed, nor the first time it’s been done on film for vampires… but it looks very cool.
Now that I’m used to all these HBO promos, I quite like them. An excellent piece of marketing.
Pamperphiliac Seeks Mistress
A Smile Means Everything
Or almost everything to this guy. A real life Craigslist ad.
A real guy wants to pay rent, have a regular busy job (for a woman who’s a producer) and live with and cook and clean for a woman.
I get that. I dig it.
The perverted, dirty part? He doesn’t want a relationship or any sex. That’s sick and twisted! Read the real ad after the jump.
Battlestar Galactica — the last season? Or The Last Supper?
What the frak?!? Coasting down Melrose Avenue this morning, I looked up and saw this image. Read the rest of this entry »
