Yes On Proposition 8 — Money to Burn

Andrew Sullivan has been writing many posts about the Human Rights Campaign and their inneffectiveness in preventing the passage of Proposition 8 and altso their general lack of impact around marriage equality and civil rights — their raison’ d’etre.
Something that sort of blows my mind is that the No On 8 ads were so useless…. [...]

McCain is “The Vet Who Did Not Vet”

One of the cutest politcal tube creations I’ve seen this season.
And I’ve seen a lot.
Amazing how much is packed in!
I especially loved the tanning beds.

Republicans Against Prop 8

The group that produced this also has a website.
Bravo!
I found some of the images kind of awful, but they make a good point.

Prop 8 Projections

Graphic from FiveThirtyEight.com: Prop 8 a Toss-Up

Kip commented on a recent post that Proposition 8 “likely won’t” pass.
Looking at the numbers above from FiveThirtyEight, I can see why the queer blogosphere and people I know against Prop 8 are saying “we’re loosing.”

Kip mentions in his comment:
A little [...]

electors and if approved by a majority of votes thereon takes effect
the day after the election unless the [...]

New Mailing Rules for Voter Registration

I mailed my father’s change of address voter registration on Monday.
Paranoid, I took the form to the post office and asked the clerk to bless it — inspect that it was OK.
First she said, “Fine, put it through the slot marked ’stamped.’ ”
Then I asked her to examine it again.  She said, “Oh, yeah, you [...]

Republicans for Obama: The Video

A surprising video with a thoughtful article in the Huffington Post.
Honestly, a very weird part of this video for me is that people so readily identify with their party.
The video subjects seem to be sort of justifying (or trying to find justification).
Are our politics really ourselves?
It seems sometimes to me that all politics are identity [...]

Sarah Palin Plays Tina Fey In Hotels

Cute and funny.
While at the hotel, the Alaska governor also used an alias–Tina. Yes, like doppelganger Tina Fey.

The Obama Channel on DishNetwork

After watching Meet the Press on my DVR, I started watching an episode of South Park on Comedy Central’s Cartman weekend I’d also recorded.
I was surprised to see an advertisement for Obama on health care with a continuum placing his plan dead center between national health care and privatization.
Lo and behold, there was an embedded [...]
